Volunteers and InternsInternships run from April 1st until late October, but other arrangements are possible. The work week is 9 hours a day, Monday through Friday, plus a Saturday morning study session. The actual schedule varies according to the season. In the summer we take a long lunch break and then work later in the day to avoid the worst of the heat. Once all the fall crops are planted, around the end of August, each full-time intern can schedule a week off.
In order to make the internships accessible to everyone we provide housing and a stipend along with food from the garden. Most interns find the stiped enough to cover basic needs while others prefer to supplement their stipend with savings.
Most years we have 3 interns who share a furnished apartment in the farmhouse that is a few minutes walk from the garden. We provide all utilities, a washing machine, clothesline and local telephone service.
