Volunteers and Interns

We welcome volunteers at any time. The first and most important thing to know is that farming is extremely physically and thus mentally demanding work. It is something that needs to be experienced to understand and appreciate fully. We can tell you it's hard and it hurts, but you can not comprehend it. Having kids is a similar analogy in that you can't fully understand what it is to be a parent without personally experiencing it. Thanks Mom and Dad for all you did:)

Internships run from March until the week before Thanksgiving or mid-November, but other arrangements are possible. The work week is Monday through Friday, plus Saturday morning until noon. The actual schedule varies somewhat according to the season. We start shortly after sunrise and work 8-9hrs. with a half-hour lunch break in between.

Most years we have 3 interns who share a furnished apartment in the farmhouse that is a few minutes walk from the garden.

If you are interested or have additional questions you can call or email Birgit and Erik at 610 933 8339 or kimbertoncsa (at) hotmail.com. We encourage you to visit in person.
