What is in a share?

A share at Kimberton CSA consists of many different fruits, vegetables and herbs. The harvest of these items normally starts in mid-to-late May and runs until the week of Thanksgiving. However, the harvest year is very dependent on the weather and can vary from year to year.

Counted Items

Items such as tomatoes, peppers, onions, or eggplants are distributed by weight or quantity. These amounts are usually determined on the day of harvest and depend on the amount available in the fields.

Free-Choice Items

Some items, such as greens and herbs, will be offered as free choice, meaning there is no quantity or weight limit.

U-Pick Items

Some items are offered as pick-your-own items. These include berries, peas, beans, flowers, okra, hot peppers, and paste tomatoes.
